Boost The System That's Boosting You

Simply put, the human body is amazing. Between the billions of neurons in the brain and the mind-bogglingly complex systems the body has developed to operate efficiently every minute of the day, we have only scratched the surface of what are own bodies are capable of. And among these wonders is the body’s ability to heal itself and ward off disease, if only we’d allow it.
Unfortunately, most people don’t give their own body the boost it needs to function properly, do it’s job and stay healthy. We’ve all heard the doctors advice to drink plenty of fluids after we get sick, but how quickly that advice is forgotten once we are back on our feet and getting back into the hustle of our daily lives. If we only took the time to stay properly hydrated, we might have avoided the illness altogether.
Add on top of that that we are constantly bombarding our own environments with pollutants that are working against our bodies, and it’s no wonder we are so susceptible to falling ill. Stress, diets high in processed sugar and preservatives, alcohol and tobacco, and fatty foods can be just a part of the daily landscape that works against our bodies efforts to do its job and operate at it’s natural, maximum efficiency. These factors and many more contribute to create a more acidic environment in the body, and the proliferation of dangerous free radicals in the body, the unstable atoms in the body that are the source of oxidative stress, which is associated with advanced aging, illness and disease.
The good news is that the more we uncover about how the body works, the more we can get out of our own way and allow it to work its miracles. And proper hydration is key to that effort, allowing the body to flush our dangerous toxins and helping the system deliver much needed nutrients to the places that need them most. Alkaline water is loaded with antioxidants which neutralizes damaging free radicals and converts them into oxygen to be used for tissue oxygenation and energy production. This helps neutralize the acid forming elements being introduced into the body, and leads to a more alkaline state with much less energy use by the body, between 7.35 and 7.45 pH, the natural state of the body. In fact, in the places in the world where alkaline water flows naturally from springs the local populations have reportedly much longer life expectancy and much lower rate of disease than that of our so-called “advanced” societies.
Of course, there’e no silver bullet for all the challenges that we face with our health, and the science is still being sorted through everyday. But there’s also no substitute for common sense, and staying hydrated with good, clean water has been recommended as a pillar of good health for ages now. Alkaline water is just our latest understanding of how that water works, and what a boost in pH can do for the rest of the body. Because when you think about it, with just a tiny bit of adjustment in our daily routine we can invest in our own bodies to have more energy, greater metabolism, and a stronger immune system. And that’d an investment worth thinking about, because as the old adage goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
